As Harrisburg is the capital of Pennsylvania, free-guided tours of its government building are available. Historically significant and magnificently striking with a 272-foot domed roof (modeled after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome) complete with murals and stained glass and a grand marble staircase (inspired by the staircase in the Paris Grand Opera House), a tour is definitely worth it.
